Technology and Foreign Languages; my two teaching and learning passions. I applied and was accepted to this fall's NCCAT (North Carolina Center for Advancement of Teaching) NCCAT seminar entitled Augmented Reality and Gamification. In preparation and excitement, I've started pre-learning about it.
Summertime has afforded me time to catch up on my internet connections. Those led me to GE4L, Game Elements for Learning, offered by Faculty e-Commons. I've just started the course. It's a MOOC (Massive Open O ooo.... Online Course) - Another first!
I'm settling into the course. I started it late, so I'm a step or two out of step. I'm hoping to get it inline and take off. I'm certainly buying what it's selling, but I'm trying to envision how I can utiltize the platform in my middle school foreign language classrooms, (12 classes, 3 levels, 300+ students....). I started creating a MyFirstWorld thinking that might be a way to "gamify" my classes, but I get started and stall. Take a look - give some advice & guidance? KMS HawkLand.
That's it for today.
